Choi Myeong Been is reportedly in line to join Byeon Woo Seok in Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling. According to a September 20 report from OSEN, the rising actress has been offered the role of Sung Jin Ah, the younger sister of Byeon Woo Seok’s character Sung Jin Woo. However, her agency has clarified that nothing has been confirmed yet. The potential casting comes as the Korean series continues to build its ensemble around Byeon Woo Seok, who was officially confirmed as the lead in 2025.
Choi Myeong Been Reportedly Offered Role Of Sung Jin Ah
According to the report, Choi Myeong Been may portray Sung Jin Ah, the younger sister of Sung Jin Woo. In response to the casting news, her agency O3 Collective briefly stated, “Nothing has been confirmed.” Choi Myeong Been began her acting career in 2016 with Queen Of Walking. She has since appeared in films including The Vanished, Waiting For Rain, My First Client and Sua’s Home. Her television credits include Young Lady And Gentleman, The King’s Affection, Twenty-Five, Twenty-One and Our Sticky Love.
Byeon Woo Seok To Lead Solo Leveling
Byeon Woo Seok was officially confirmed to headline Netflix’s live-action Solo Leveling in July 2025. He will play Sung Jin Woo, an E-rank Hunter who gains extraordinary abilities following a near-death experience and begins to grow stronger while confronting monsters emerging through mysterious Gates.
The series is based on the hugely popular Korean web novel and webtoon, which has also been adapted into an anime and video game. Netflix previously announced that the live-action version will be co-directed by Lee Hae Jun and Kim Byung Seo, with Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES producing.

Solo Leveling Cast Includes Several Actors In Talks
The reported addition of Choi Myeong Been comes amid ongoing casting updates for the adaptation. Han So Hee and Kang You Seok are reportedly in talks to play Cha Hae In and Yoo Jin Ho, respectively. Kang Mina, Rain, Lee Sung Min and Lee Hong Nae have also been reported to be considering roles.
Earlier in September, reports also linked Kim Si Ah and Sung Joon to the project. Their agencies similarly stated that their casting had not been confirmed. Kim Si Ah was reported to be considering Han Song Yi, while Sung Joon was linked to Woo Jin Chul.

Solo Leveling follows Sung Jin Woo, initially the weakest-ranked Hunter, whose life changes after a dangerous encounter gives him extraordinary abilities. As his powers develop, he becomes increasingly involved in battles against supernatural threats.
With Byeon Woo Seok already confirmed as Sung Jin Woo and several other casting reports emerging, the Netflix adaptation is gradually taking shape. However, Choi Myeong Been’s participation remains unconfirmed until an official announcement is made.
