Golmaal series of Ajay Devgn returns to theaters once again with Golmaal 5 and the film has fixed its release date to be January 8, 2027. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the comedy entertainer has returned with many of its characters including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor while Akshay Kumar has joined it as its new addition.
But then Golmaal 5 won't get its January 8 release date alone as another film titled Mahakali by Prasanth Varma with Akshaye Khanna playing the role of Shukracharya will release on the same day in theaters.
Golmaal 5 Returns With Ajay Devgn And The Original Gang
"Golmaal 5" is a film in which there will be a comeback of one of the most successful comedy series from Bollywood. There will be a comeback for director Rohit Shetty, and Ajay Devgan will again become the star of the series.
The list of returning actors is Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, and Tusshar Kapoor. But the inclusion of actor Akshay Kumar became another question about the fifth part of the franchise. January 8, 2027 has already been set as the release date of the film.
Mahakali Brings Akshaye Khanna As Shukracharya
On the other end of this clash is the Mahakali, which is the upcoming action-fantasy mythological film produced by Prasanth Varma's filmography. Akshaye Khanna will play the character of Shukracharya who is the guru of the Asuras whereas Puja Aparna Kolluru will direct the film while Prasanth Varma is credited as the creator of the movie.
The recently revealed teaser involves a bigger fight between the Devas, Asuras and the unknown birth story of Mahakali. Other stars include Sriya Reddy, Bhoomi Shetty, Rohit Saraf, Rajat Kapoor, Nassar, etc.

January 8 Clash Puts Comedy Against Mythological Action
The major point that comes up with the release of both films is the huge difference between them. Golmaal 5 is considered as the mainstream comedy film with an already known team of actors, whereas Mahakali aspires to create a big mythological world with action, fantasy, and superhero parts.
Mahakali is planned to be released in IMAX 3D version, which means that yet another format will come along with this release. This film belongs to the universe started with Hanuman.
Two Different Films, One Big Release Date
As both movies will be released on the same day, January 8, 2027, moviegoers will be offered two very different choices. The success of Golmaal 5 will depend upon the popularity of the comedy series produced by Rohit Shetty, whereas Mahakali will try to attract audiences through its mythical storyline, large-scale visual effects, and Akshaye Khanna's Shukracharya character.
For the time being, both movies continue to retain their release date and thus, January 8, 2027 will be a significant release date on the Indian movies' calendar.
