Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film Jana Nayagan continues its impressive run at the box office. After opening to a strong response on its first day, the political action thriller maintained solid momentum on Day 2, delivering notable earnings in both domestic and international markets.
Released on 23 July after months of anticipation, the film has been well received by audiences despite having a relatively low-key promotional campaign. Positive word of mouth and Vijay’s massive fan following have helped the movie perform strongly at the ticket windows.
Jana Nayagan Box Office Collection Day 2
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan earned over ₹21 crore net in India on its second day (Friday). Although the collection was lower than its opening-day figure of more than ₹42 crore, the film continued to attract audiences across major markets.
With this, the film’s two-day domestic net collection has reached ₹63.85 crore, while its domestic gross stands at around ₹75 crore.

Strong Overseas Performance
The film has also performed exceptionally well overseas. On Day 2 alone, Jana Nayagan collected approximately ₹10 crore from international markets.
Its total overseas collection after two days has climbed to ₹37.50 crore, highlighting Vijay’s popularity among global audiences, particularly in regions with a large Tamil-speaking fan base.

Worldwide Collection Crosses ₹112 Crore
Combining domestic and overseas earnings, Jana Nayagan has crossed the ₹112.50 crore mark worldwide within just two days of release. The milestone further strengthens the film’s position as one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year and a memorable farewell project for Vijay.
What Is Jana Nayagan About?
Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller centred on Vetri Konden, played by Vijay. Once an honest police officer, Vetri later serves a prison sentence before returning to protect the daughter of his late friend. As he takes on the responsibility, he finds himself confronting an international arms dealer and exposing corruption deeply rooted within the political and administrative system.
Packed with action, political drama and emotional moments, the film marks Vijay’s final appearance on the big screen before focusing on his political career. Early audience reactions suggest that the movie has struck a chord with fans, both in India and overseas.
