There she comes across Steven Shankar (Kiran Abbavaram), who is a positive and innocent orphan boy trying hard to realize his dream of becoming a successful movie director.

They belong to different worlds but the strange meeting helps bring them together. The story deals with love and emotional healing and talks about the power of dreams in our lives. As their lives get entangled with each other, the story focuses on love, emotional upheavals and hurdles in their lives.

Chennai Love Story Review: Emotional, Engaging and Uneven

"Chennai Love Story" is an effective movie because it centers on its characters and their emotions. The film allows room for the protagonist duo to develop their relationship, and the disparity between Nivedita’s agony and Steven Shankar’s naïve optimism makes for an intriguing contrast.

The first half of the movie is apparently one of the better halves of the film. The screenplay, performances of the main actors and the pre-interval and interval scenes have got praise, and it has managed to arouse curiosity among the audience members. The second half comprises twists and an emotional journey for the movie-goers. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of the film depends greatly on whether the audience gets connected emotionally. Some parts can be too predictable for those who see romantic dramas often.

Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya Lead the Film

Kiran Abbavaram is perhaps one of the greatest assets of the movie. Kiran's acting as Steven Shankar has been highly appreciated for his simplicity and innocence in his acting. Kiran gives an matured touch to his acting which makes the character likable.

Another brilliant performer who does justice to her character is Sri Gouri Priya who plays the role of Nivedita. Nivedita passes through an emotionally turbulent period in life and hence the actor brings the desired sensitivity to her role. Devi Prasad, Thrigun and P.Vasu contribute significantly towards building up the world of the film. Nevertheless, the lead pair still steals the limelight of the movie.

Music and Visual Appeal

The music by Mani Sharma is one of the technical strengths of the movie. Situational songs are good in some parts of the story and enhance the emotional feel of the story.

The technical side of the film also suits its romantic and dramatic nature. Being set in Chennai, the film has a unique background while the technical presentation of the film mainly concentrates on the characters. Editing and technical presentation are good enough to help maintain the flow of the story, especially in the first half of the story.
