Throughout the movie, Dulhaniya Le Aaeegi adheres to the nature of the film. In this movie, no dramatic changes or intense confrontations occur because the movie is about easy storytelling that is based on humor and love. The screenplay of the movie is not hurried and the events develop in an easy and natural way for the characters. Some scenes look believable due to lack of exaggeration and the comedy elements in the plot are used smoothly and naturally. Nevertheless, there are a number of scenes in the second part of the movie that are too long. Moreover, the predictable plot of the movie makes it easier for viewers to guess what will happen next.
Khushalii Kumar Leads a Likeable Ensemble
Khushalii Kumar puts forth one of the most assured performances of her career till date. She portrays the character of Navya with great sensitivity and believability, managing to make her immediately endearing without falling back on histrionics. The cinematography and production design of the movie have portrayed the colorful and happy aspects of Indian marriages brilliantly. The music and background score go well with the storyline, as both of them add emotion to certain scenes, whereas the humor aspect is also handled effectively by the background score. Although the editing of the first half was brilliant, that of the second could have been improved.
