Mumbai-born choreographer Rajit Dev has scripted history by becoming the first Indian choreographer to be associated with the official album of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Rajit choreographed the song Siir Siir, which is part of FIFA’s prestigious music project featuring 18 tracks from artists around the world. The song stars Nora Fatehi, alongside contributions from French singer-songwriter Vegedream and music producer Sanjay. Inspired by a popular Moroccan football chant that translates to “Move Forward,” the track celebrates the spirit of football and cultural unity on a global platform.
A Decade-Long Partnership with Nora Fatehi
Rajit Dev revealed that his journey with Nora Fatehi began over ten years ago when they met during a dance reality show. Since then, the duo has collaborated on numerous projects. When Nora received the opportunity to work on a FIFA World Cup song, she personally invited Rajit to choreograph it. According to him, all the dancers featured in the music video are from India and belong to his own dance team, making the achievement even more special. Despite her busy travel schedule, Nora remained closely involved in the preparation process and learned the choreography through rehearsal videos sent to her before the shoot.
Challenges During the Morocco Shoot
The music video was filmed in Morocco, where the team faced several logistical challenges. Rajit explained that they rehearsed extensively in Mumbai before traveling overseas. One of the biggest hurdles came during filming at a major stadium in Rabat. The production team was granted only 15 minutes inside the venue to shoot a crucial portion of the song. To make the most of the limited time, the dancers and crew practiced repeatedly before entering the stadium. Their preparation paid off, allowing them to complete the sequence successfully within the tight schedule.
