Reality TV personality and influencer Tanya Mittal has strongly reacted after being compared to Shalini Passi in a controversial remark made by a journalist. Calling the comment "sexist" and "disrespectful," Tanya shared her decade-long journey to remind critics of the hard work behind her success.
Tanya Mittal Hits Back at 'Cheap Copy' Comment
'Bigg Boss 19' fame influencer Tanya Mittal has become the center of attention after publicly calling out a journalist who allegedly described her as a "cheap copy" of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star Shalini Passi. The remark reportedly suggested that Tanya was merely showing off her wealth, which did not sit well with the content creator.
Rather than ignoring the criticism, Tanya took to Instagram Stories to express her disappointment and condemn the language used against her. She questioned how a media platform could use such words to describe a woman and called the statement both "sexist" and "deeply insulting."
"I Am Tanya Mittal, Not Anyone's Copy"
In her Instagram post, Tanya made it clear that she does not wish to be compared with anyone else. She emphasized that she has built her own identity through years of dedication and perseverance.
According to Tanya, reducing a woman's achievements to comparisons with another successful woman is unfair and dismissive of her personal journey. She also pointed out that women often have to repeatedly prove their worth, especially when they achieve success independently.

From Selling ₹150 Greeting Cards to National Recognition
While responding to the criticism, Tanya reflected on her inspiring journey that began nearly a decade ago. She revealed that she had dropped out of her studies and refused family pressure to marry at a young age in order to pursue her own dreams.
She shared that her career started by selling greeting cards worth ₹150. Later, she began creating videos highlighting Indian temples and cultural heritage. Although she was frequently mocked and trolled for this content, she continued working despite losing several major opportunities along the way.

Despite receiving little public support, Tanya said she chose to remain strong and continued moving forward. She believes that her current success is the result of years of resilience, persistence, and hard work.

Calls on Media to Report Responsibly
Ending her statement, Tanya urged media organizations and online users to stop humiliating people simply to generate clicks and engagement. She stressed that no amount of trolling, false narratives, or disrespect can erase the sacrifices she has made over the past 10 years.
She appealed to journalists to focus on facts and responsible reporting rather than sensational headlines that target individuals for attention.
