Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa’s legal troubles appear to be intensifying in the 2024 Renuka Swamy murder case. One of the accused has reportedly approached a Bengaluru court seeking pardon and expressed his willingness to become an approver in the case. In his application, the accused allegedly claimed that he is ready to disclose details about the crime and Darshan’s alleged role.
According to reports, accused Pradosh S Rao has sought the court’s permission to turn approver and provide a detailed account of what allegedly happened on June 8, 2024, when Renuka Swamy was allegedly assaulted at a shed in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya area.
Accused Seeks Pardon Before Bengaluru Court
As per reports, Pradosh S Rao, who was allegedly associated with Darshan, told the court that he was prepared to reveal everything he knew about the murder case. His application reportedly contains several serious allegations concerning the alleged assault on Renuka Swamy.
Rao allegedly claimed that Darshan was present during the assault and physically attacked the victim. He further alleged that the actor later became involved in attempts to create a false narrative surrounding Renuka Swamy’s death.
Alleged Assault Inside a Bengaluru Shed
According to Rao’s reported statement, he reached the shed where Renuka Swamy was allegedly being held and found him sitting on the floor while several people were present around him.
Rao reportedly told the court that an argument was taking place over messages sent by Renuka Swamy to Darshan’s alleged partner and actor Pavithra Gowda. He claimed that Darshan allegedly abused the victim and instructed Pavithra Gowda to hit him with a slipper.
The statement further alleges that other people at the location assaulted Renuka Swamy with wooden objects.
Serious Allegations Against Darshan
Rao reportedly made further allegations about the nature of the assault. He claimed that Darshan allegedly attacked Renuka Swamy with a rope and kicked him on his neck and chest. He also alleged that Darshan placed both his feet on the victim’s chest during the assault.
Rao further claimed that Darshan handed him Renuka Swamy’s phone and asked him to check whether the victim had been messaging other women.

Rao Claims He Warned Darshan About the Victim’s Condition
In his reported account, Rao allegedly told the court that he warned Darshan that continued violence could result in Renuka Swamy’s death. Despite the warning, he claimed that the assault continued.
Rao reportedly said that he later learned from Darshan’s driver that Renuka Swamy had died. He then allegedly went to Darshan’s residence and informed him about the death.
According to the reported statement, efforts were subsequently made to conceal the incident. Rao also alleged that Darshan threatened to harm himself if he did not cooperate.
Alleged Attempt to Create a False Story
Rao reportedly alleged that a false story involving a financial dispute was created to divert attention from the actual circumstances of the death.
He further claimed that two people were allegedly brought into the picture and offered ₹15 lakh to take responsibility for the crime. Rao also reportedly told the court that Renuka Swamy’s body was placed inside a white Scorpio vehicle before the accused allegedly searched for a location to dispose of it.
According to his statement, the body was eventually abandoned near a drain.
Darshan and Pavithra Gowda Were Arrested in 2024
Renuka Swamy was allegedly murdered in June 2024, with investigators linking the case to alleged online harassment involving Pavithra Gowda. Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were among those arrested in connection with the case.
The latest claims have added another significant development to the proceedings. However, the allegations made by an accused person in an application are yet to be established in court. The final determination of guilt will depend on the evidence presented and the court’s proceedings.
