After an entertaining nine-month journey, Indian Idol 16 has officially come to an end with Jyotirmayee Nayak lifting the winner's trophy. The talented singer from Odisha impressed both the judges and viewers throughout the competition with her soulful voice and consistent performances, earning the title of the season's champion.
The singing reality show began in October last year with 16 contestants competing for the prestigious title. After months of performances, eliminations and audience voting, six finalists secured a place in the grand finale held on 26 July. Each finalist delivered one last performance, but it was Jyotirmayee who stood out the most and claimed victory.
Winner Receives Trophy and ₹20 Lakh Prize
Along with the Indian Idol 16 trophy, Jyotirmayee Nayak was awarded ₹20 lakh in prize money. Tanishq Shukla finished as the first runner-up, while Manraj Veer Singh secured the second runner-up position after delivering impressive performances throughout the season.
Grand Finale Performance Won Hearts
For her final performance, Jyotirmayee chose the romantic song "Saiyyan O Saiyyan" from the 2001 film Nayak, starring Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. Her powerful rendition received an overwhelming response from both the audience and the judging panel. Judges Vishal Dadlani and Shreya Ghoshal praised her vocal control, emotional expression and stage presence, making her performance one of the highlights of the finale.

Jyotirmayee Reacts to Her Victory
Speaking after being announced as the winner, Jyotirmayee expressed her gratitude and described the achievement as a dream come true.
She said that winning Indian Idol Season 16 felt unbelievable and that her journey-from arriving at the auditions with nothing but a dream to standing on stage as the champion-had completely changed her life. She added that every performance helped her grow not only as a singer but also as a performer and a person, and that the lessons she learned during the competition would remain with her forever.
With this victory, Jyotirmayee Nayak has emerged as one of the country's most promising new singing talents, and fans will now be eager to see the next chapter of her musical career.
