Shakeel Noorani, a film director aged 73, has been arrested by Mumbai Police on the basis of a complaint by an actress aged 33 years, who claims to have been raped and sexually assaulted by him. The veteran director has thus been investigated and his allegations have been subject to legal process in the process of examining the case.
In her complaint, the actress said Noorani had made her take a drink and had put her to sleep. The actress alleged that she was shown a video and told that he would distribute it if she went to the police. The film director is also alleged to have used the video as leverage over the actress in question. These allegations are contained in the complaint, which have yet to be proved in court.
