There has been an outcry against the BTS members RM and J-Hope for having attended the concert held by Chris Brown and Usher in Toronto last month. They were witnessed enjoying the show while J-Hope took part of the performance to his social network site. A photo taken backstage showing RM, J-Hope, and Brown further stirred the reaction on the Internet.

It is not just about the fans anymore, as even The Pixel Project, a non-profit organization fighting violence who had placed RM on their list of male role models, has indefinitely removed him from their list due to this reaction.

RM And J-Hope Attended Chris Brown's Toronto Concert

RM and J-Hope went to see the concert that was headlined by both Brown and Usher held in Rogers Stadium, located close to Toronto on August 12. J-Hope was posting video clips and photos from the performance, depicting the enjoyment of these two BTS members at the show.

The case gained additional attention when Chris Brown posted a picture taken backstage together with RM and J-Hope.

Chris Brown's Past Became The Centre Of The Controversy

A lot of the controversy surrounding Brown stems from his history of legal disputes that involved acts of violence. In 2009, he was charged with assaulting his girlfriend, Rihanna at the time, and was sentenced to community service.

The increased controversy comes after Brown has continued to be subjected to the spotlight regarding both past and new legal troubles. Thus, for many fans, it is not just a matter of going to the concert but also associating with him publicly through the photos.

Fans Question RM And J-Hope's Public Association

Reactions from the fandom have been mixed, with some fans being critical of the two stars for having decided to attend the show and saying that it was disrespectful considering their past. On the other hand, there are those who defend their right to attend concerts while stating that attending such events is not always equal to supporting an artist's past.

However, this has turned out to be a big issue due to the popularity of BTS across the globe. There are even those who regret the fact that they did not make any statement on the matter.

The Pixel Project Suspends RM From Its Role Model List

This controversy went one step further when The Pixel Project revealed that RM had been indefinitely stripped of his status as part of their “16 Male Role Models Helping to Stop Violence****Bold Against Women” list. The organisation explained that their action was taken due to their apprehensions about the association with Brown and the ramifications of such association due to RM’s popularity.

It is important to mention that RM’s public appearance alongside Brown cannot be immediately seen as endorsement of violence against women. Nevertheless, the organisations pointed out that celebrities who have a lot of fans have more responsibilities when associating publicly with certain individuals.
