Ramayana by Nitesh Tiwari has managed to make headlines months before the movie hits the theatres. According to reports, Shri Ramlila Mahasangh has sent letters to the filmmakers asking for a private screening of the film ahead of its theatrical release. The organization states that it has been made aware that some scenes can potentially damage Hindu sentiments.
This incident follows the Adipurush controversy where the organization warned of protesting against the release if their demands were not met. Although there has been no official response from the film's makers, it has added to the buzz around the highly anticipated Indian movie of 2026.
Shri Ramlila Mahasangh Seeks A Special Screening
According to some sources, Shri Ramlila Mahasangh has penned a letter to the movie's director Nitesh Tiwari and producers of the movie to arrange for a private screening before the release of the movie.
According to their statements, they would like to ensure if the movie is being presented in the correct manner and if there are any scenes in the movie which may offend the religious sentiments of the devotees.
Protest Warning If Request Is Ignored
The group is reported to have threatened that if the filmmakers do not make special arrangements for screening, there will be protests outside the theatres after the release of the movie.
This threat has been associated with the controversy that surrounded Adipurush. The group says that they wish to avoid such controversy over another Ramayana adaptation.

Star Cast And Trailer Continue To Generate Buzz
In this movie, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. This movie even has an amazing soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, thus becoming one of the biggest films in Indian cinema history.
The trailer that was recently released has become widely discussed because people appreciate the visuals but also discuss some aspects of creation.
Makers Yet To Respond Publicly
So far, there has been no official response from the producers of Ramayana on their decision on the demands of the Shri Ramlila Mahasangh or the protest notice served by them.
