Television and film actress Mouni Roy and her husband Suraj Nambiar have become the center of online speculation after reports claimed that the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. Fans also noticed that photos featuring Suraj are no longer visible on Mouni’s profile, leading to widespread rumors about possible issues in their marriage.
The sudden change in their social media activity quickly caught the attention of users, with many wondering whether the couple is going through a rough phase. Although neither Mouni nor Suraj has officially addressed the rumors, the online buzz continues to grow.
Love Story and Wedding
Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar reportedly met for the first time during New Year celebrations in Dubai in 2019. After dating for nearly three years, the couple tied the knot in January 2022 in Goa.
Their wedding took place at the Hilton Goa Resort in Candolim and beautifully blended both Malayali and Bengali traditions. The pair first married according to Malayali customs and later celebrated a Bengali wedding ceremony on the same day.
While Mouni hails from Cooch Behar in West Bengal, Suraj belongs to a Jain family from Bengaluru and is based in Dubai, where he works as a businessman and investment banker.
Mouni Roy’s Career Journey
Mouni Roy first gained popularity through Indian television and later transitioned successfully into films and web projects. She appeared in popular shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasturi, and Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev.
However, it was her role as Shivanya in Naagin that turned her into a household name. Following the success of the show, she shifted her focus toward films.
She made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold in 2018. Over the years, she has also appeared in films including Romeo Akbar Walter, Made in China, Velle, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, Blackout and The Bhootnii.
Upcoming Film
Mouni Roy will next be seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai alongside Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. Directed by David Dhawan, the film is expected to release in theatres on June 5.
