Netflix has officially announced the third installment of its acclaimed anthology franchise, ‘Lust Stories 3’. The upcoming edition brings together four distinctive filmmakers-Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj-to tell four individual stories centered around love, desire, relationships and unspoken emotions.
The Emmy-nominated anthology is set to return with a fresh collection of narratives that explore the complexities of modern relationships. Each filmmaker brings a different creative perspective, promising stories that examine intimacy and human emotions through deeply personal and contemporary lenses.
Star Cast of ‘Lust Stories 3’
‘Lust Stories 3’ features an impressive ensemble of actors from the Indian film industry. The cast includes Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada.
With such a diverse lineup, the anthology is expected to present characters and relationships that explore different shades of love, attraction, vulnerability and emotional conflict.

When Will ‘Lust Stories 3’ Stream?
‘Lust Stories 3’ is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 18. The anthology will bring all four stories together, with each chapter offering a distinct narrative style and emotional perspective.
According to Ruchika Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films, Netflix India, the strength of the ‘Lust Stories’ franchise lies in its ability to reinvent itself while remaining connected to human emotions.
She explained that every chapter begins with a human feeling and takes viewers toward a different emotional truth. Desire serves as a way to explore themes such as power, vulnerability, personal choice, compromises and emotions that people often find difficult to express openly.
Four Filmmakers, Four Unique Stories
The four chapters of the upcoming anthology will explore intimate relationships from different viewpoints. Rather than following a single narrative, the film brings together four standalone stories, each reflecting the individual filmmaking style of its director.
Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj are known for their distinct storytelling approaches, and their collaboration is expected to give ‘Lust Stories 3’ a varied cinematic identity.
The anthology will delve into the complexities, contradictions and emotional realities that exist within close relationships. Through four different creative voices, the film aims to explore feelings and desires that can often remain hidden beneath the surface.
A Look Back at the ‘Lust Stories’ Franchise
The original ‘Lust Stories’ premiered in 2018 and featured four acclaimed directors-Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar. The anthology explored different dimensions of love, intimacy and relationships through four interconnected themes.
The second installment, ‘Lust Stories 2’, arrived in 2023. It featured filmmakers R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Ravindernath Sharma and Sujoy Ghosh, who presented another set of stories revolving around relationships and desire.
Now, with its third chapter, the franchise is returning with a new combination of filmmakers and performers. ‘Lust Stories 3’ is expected to continue the anthology's tradition of presenting bold, emotionally layered stories that stay with audiences even after the credits roll.
