Celebrity actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has again come forward to lend a helping hand in times of humanitarian crisis when he has gone to Nepal to help the flood victims in the country which has suffered extensive destruction due to floods and landslides.
Sonu Sood has visited different regions in Nepal such as Trishuli River valley and Nuwakot, to assess the extent of damage caused due to the calamity. This time, Sonu Sood Charity Foundation is distributing basic relief material such as food and blankets to the victims of the disaster through the aid of his team members.
Sonu Sood Reaches Flood-Hit Nepal With Essential Relief

Sood has landed in Kathmandu as part of a relief team of the Sood Charity Foundation with supplies coming from India. The immediate help involves food and blankets, as well as an assessment of needs of the affected people. While in Nepal, Sood visited the badly hit places and met with survivors, even those children that have been living in makeshift shelters.
He said that his team will keep trying to get to the hard-to-reach places and give all the help possible. Among the plans for this current Nepal relief campaign of the foundation are food, clean drinking water, medicines, clothing, and hygiene kits.
'Nepal, You Are Not Alone' Becomes Sood's Message Of Solidarity
Sood’s appeal has been centered around being there for families who have lost their homes, loved ones and means of living. While showing photos of the damaged areas, he said, “They lost their homes, their families, their childhood… but together, we will make sure they get a new life. Nepal, you’re not alone.”
Sood has also called upon individuals and companies from India to donate in aid of the rebuilding process. Sood emphasized the need for prolonged effort because of the magnitude of the devastation.

Sood Plans Long-Term Support Beyond Food And Blankets

It is obvious from the actor’s statement that he does not see his role as merely providing aid through immediate relief supplies. He has mentioned that he will provide continued help in the coming months as well as determine what the community needs in the recovery process.
Sood has suggested a “Resolve to Build a Home” initiative that can assist people who are homeless and need to rebuild their lives. The general idea of Sood revolves around thinking of aid beyond emergency supplies as well as helping people rebuild their homes. There is a great requirement for this because it is reported that thousands of homes have been damaged beyond repair because of the catastrophe.
Sonu Sood Urges Everyone To Help Nepal Rebuild
The catastrophic floods and landslides in Nepal have created a huge task for recovery in various communities in northern Nepal, with houses and other structures being extensively damaged. Relief operations are underway even as efforts are made to trace missing persons and assist the displaced population.
Amidst such circumstances, Sood has requested others to get involved rather than leaving it all to the governments and relief agencies. He has particularly requested big firms to make use of their corporate social responsibility activities to assist the affected communities.
This is why Sood's visit has not only become a starry one but also an assurance of continuous aid by the Sood Charity Foundation. As Nepal shifts its attention from emergency response to reconstruction, the promises made by Sood can provide some hope to affected communities.
