Fall 2: Deadpoint is an English survival thriller that has been filmed by directors Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig. Technical details are one of the better parts of the movie. The use of the ropes, hooks, bolts, planks, oxygen tanks and other gear makes the survival segments seem well thought out. Harriet Slater and Arsema Thomas have done a great job physically in this movie.

The real issue starts coming up when the movie leaves the mountain environment and into other territory. There is an added element of unbelievable twist after unbelievable twist that takes away all the suspense built up in the beginning. The whole setup is itself based on making some questionable decisions.

Harriet Slater and Arsema Thomas Keep the Survival Drama Going

In my opinion, Harriet Slater does great job playing Jax as she convincingly portrays fear, guilt, and physical exhaustion that the character faces. She adds emotional dimension to the survival story and does not make it about climbing alone. Moreover, Arsema Thomas convinces as Luce who, at first, seems to be more adventurous than Jax. The chemistry of the main characters makes the film work in calm moments.

Furthermore, Tom Brittney succeeds in creating charm of John, who agrees to become a guide for the two women and lead them on the dangerous trek that is illegal. He becomes an extra source of uncertainty as his participation in the expedition remains unclear.

Technical Aspects and Visual Appeal

The mountain setting ranks among the best features of Fall 2: Deadpoint. The directors take advantage of the altitude and the dangerous paths that require caution during climbing to build tension. The level of attention put into climbing gear by the directors helps give the survival scenes credibility.

The action is at its peak when the characters are exposed and have no safe places to move around. However, the film loses its edge once the plot starts revolving around the twists.
