He sports long, wavy hair, a thick moustache and traditional jewellery, while elaborate golden armour covers his chest and shoulders. A red sun tilak on his forehead further connects the character to Karna’s mythological identity.

The poster gives a glimpse of the visual approach being taken for the film, with Lawrence stepping into the role of one of the central figures associated with the Mahabharata. The production house described the image as the first look of Lawrence as Mahaveer Karna.

Ramesh Varma Directs Mahaveer Karna

Mahaveer Karna is directed by Ramesh Varma, known for films including Khiladi and Rakshasudu. The project was previously associated with the title Kaala Bhairava when Lawrence and Varma’s collaboration was announced in 2024. The project has now been presented as Mahaveer Karna.

Lawrence shared that he had not expected a script like this to come his way and expressed gratitude towards Varma for bringing the story to him. He also asked audiences for their blessings and support as he begins the journey of portraying Karna.
