Kim Ji Won has yet again captured hearts through an admirable gesture of generosity. The actress has made a donation worth 100 million won, which is around $70,000, to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital with the objective of helping out children from poor backgrounds and upgrading the facilities in the dilapidated hospital wards. The generous donation was made on August 7 and announced by the hospital on August 10.
The donation is especially significant since Kim Ji Won has a few days left before the broadcast of her upcoming medical drama Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia. She explained that the sight of the suffering of sick children and the staff working in the drama motivated her to make such a donation.
Kim Ji Won Makes A Generous Donation To Children's Hospital
The funds donated by Kim Ji Won would be utilized to assist children who suffer from serious, rare, and incurable diseases, especially if their family members have difficulty paying for medical care. A portion of the donation will also be utilized to upgrade hospital infrastructure and to ensure that the children get a safe and comfortable environment in the hospital.
Many families move from various parts of South Korea to Seoul to receive medical assistance for their children at this hospital and they experience both financial and emotional stress.
Actress Was Inspired By Her Upcoming Medical Drama
Kim Ji Won added that her motive for donating money was that her experience during the shoot of “Doctor X” played a role. She found many stories of medical staff and sick children when shooting the film and saw firsthand how tough their life is.
She expressed her appreciation towards the medical staff, sick patients, and their families who continue to put in their best even under tough conditions.
