With Jeongyeon of TWICE officially leaving JYP Entertainment after nearly 11 years in the company, the singer is about to start a new chapter in her career life. Jeongyeon broke the news herself by writing a letter to her fans dated August 10, 2026. In a similar statement released on the same date, it was revealed that VARO Entertainment has signed an exclusive contract with Jeongyeon while at the same time maintaining her role in TWICE.

Jeongyeon Personally Announces Her JYP Departure

Jeongyeon posted a message on Instagram aimed specifically at ONCE regarding her reasons behind her decision. She referred to JYP Entertainment as her "second home" considering the time she had been with them from her teenage days. The singer confessed that it was quite difficult to leave an environment so familiar to her, but the encouragement from her TWICE fellow members and fans provided her with strength to continue.

Jeongyeon Assures Fans TWICE Remains Her Priority

When she was introducing her newly joined agency, Jeongyeon highlighted one thing in particular: TWICE will always stay at the core of her life. She assured ONCE that joining a new agency doesn’t necessarily mean saying goodbye to TWICE. According to Jeongyeon, standing in front of the audience as a TWICE member will always be her primary concern even in her new environment. Twice made its debut in 2015 with Jeongyeon, making the departure from JYP the end of the long journey that started when she was still a trainee.

What Jeongyeon's New Chapter Means for TWICE

However, the move of Jeongyeon to another management agency is considered a significant career change. However, there are no signs that she will be leaving TWICE in the near future. Her own statement clearly indicated that TWICE is still her main concern. For ONCE fans, this move means both goodbye to Jeongyeon and JYP Agency and a new start for the member of the group.
