Kartik Aaryan’s long-awaited film Captain India is once again making headlines, with a fresh update about its cast generating excitement among fans. The project, which was officially announced several years ago, has gone through significant changes before reportedly moving forward again.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Malayalam actress Parvathy Thiruvothu has been brought on board to play an important role alongside Kartik Aaryan in the upcoming film. Parvathy Thiruvothu Joins Captain India
Captain India was first announced in 2021 with Kartik Aaryan in the lead. The film initially had filmmaker Hansal Mehta attached as director, but he later exited the project. After a period of uncertainty, reports in 2026 suggested that the movie was being revived with a new creative team.
The directorial responsibilities are now reportedly with Shimit Amin, best known for films such as Chak De! India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. With Amin returning to filmmaking after a long gap, Captain India has once again become a much-discussed project.
The reported casting of Parvathy also highlights the growing collaboration between Hindi and South Indian cinema. With pan-India films becoming increasingly popular, actors from different regional industries are now frequently crossing linguistic and geographical boundaries.

She made her Hindi film debut with Qarib Qarib Singlle in 2017, sharing the screen with Irrfan Khan. Since then, she has largely remained associated with South Indian cinema.
