Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling has expanded its cast with Han So Hee, Kang You Seok, Sung Jun, Lee Sung Min and Rain joining previously confirmed lead Byeon Woo Seok. The newly announced actors will take on several major characters from the popular web novel and webtoon.

Byeon Woo Seok stars as Sung Jin Woo, the lowest-ranked E-rank Hunter whose life changes after a near-death experience unlocks extraordinary powers. The series is currently in production, with its premiere date yet to be announced.

Han So Hee Plays S-Rank Hunter Cha Hae In

Han So Hee will portray Cha Hae In, Korea’s ninth S-rank Hunter and its only female S-rank Hunter. A highly skilled fighter, Cha Hae In primarily uses a longsword and is one of the strongest Hunters in the country. The role marks Han So Hee’s first on-screen pairing with Byeon Woo Seok.

Their characters occupy important positions within the Hunter world, with Cha Hae In eventually becoming closely connected to Sung Jin Woo’s journey. Her addition gives the adaptation one of its most prominent female characters and adds another major star to the growing ensemble.

Kang You Seok And Sung Jun Join The Cast

Kang You Seok will play Yoo Jin Ho, the second son of the powerful Yoojin Group family. Despite his privileged background, Yoo Jin Ho becomes involved in dungeon quests alongside Sung Jin Woo and eventually begins looking up to him like an older brother.

Sung Jun, meanwhile, will portray Woo Jin Chul, an A-rank Hunter and chief inspector of the Surveillance Team at the Korean Hunters Association. His character monitors Hunters and becomes one of the first people to suspect that Sung Jin Woo has experienced a reawakening. Both characters play important roles as Jin Woo’s abilities and reputation begin to grow.

Lee Sung Min And Rain Make Special Appearances

Veteran actor Lee Sung Min and singer-actor Rain will also make special appearances in the live-action series. Lee Sung Min will play Go Gun Hee, the chairman of the Korean Hunters Association. A retired top-level Hunter, Gun Hee still holds significant authority and can mobilise Hunters during emergencies.

Rain will portray Baek Yoon Ho, the head of the White Tiger Guild, one of Korea’s five major Hunter guilds. Baek Yoon Ho is an S-rank Hunter with the ability to transform into a magical beast, making him one of the adaptation’s most powerful characters.

Byeon Woo Seok Leads Solo Leveling Live Action

Solo Leveling began as a Korean web novel before becoming a hugely successful webtoon, anime franchise and video game. The live-action series centres on Sung Jin Woo, an E-rank Hunter regarded as the weakest among those protecting humanity from monsters emerging through mysterious Gates.

After surviving a dangerous encounter, Jin Woo gains the ability to level up and becomes increasingly powerful. His transformation eventually makes him humanity’s unexpected hope against increasingly dangerous supernatural threats. The series is being directed by Han Dong Wook alongside Lee Hae Jun and Kim Byung Seo. With its main cast now taking shape, production is moving forward, although Netflix has not yet announced the premiere date.
