Salman Khan Films shared a post marking 11 years of Hero, which featured the popular song Main Hoon Hero Tera. Amaal Mallik, who composed the music, noticed that the post did not mention him or lyricist Kumaar.
Reacting to the omission, Amaal questioned the decision to celebrate the song without crediting its creators. He highlighted the hard work that goes into creating music and argued that composers and lyricists deserve to be acknowledged whenever their work is used or celebrated publicly.

The controversy centres on Main Hoon Hero Tera, one of the best-known songs from Hero. Amaal Mallik composed the music, while Kumaar wrote the lyrics. The original version was sung by Amaal's brother Armaan Malik, while Salman Khan also recorded another version of the song.
Hero, directed by Nikkhil Advani, marked the Bollywood debuts of Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty. The film was produced under Salman Khan's production banner, making Amaal's criticism particularly notable given his earlier association with Salman.

The dispute also appears to have prompted a correction. Reports indicate that the Salman Khan Films post was subsequently edited to tag Amaal Mallik and provide due credit to him and lyricist Kumaar.
