Raghav Juyal’s role in The Paradise was not simply cast and played as originally written. Director Srikanth Odela has revealed that the character underwent changes after he met Raghav, with the filmmaker deciding to build the role around the actor’s natural confidence, flexibility and screen presence. The director had spent nearly eight months searching for the right actor for the antagonist before Raghav’s picture was shown to him by one of his assistant directors. That meeting eventually changed the way Odela approached the character.
Srikanth Odela Spent 8 Months Searching For The Right Actor
According to Srikanth Odela, he had a very specific image in mind while looking for the actor who would play the negative role in The Paradise. He wanted someone lean, flexible, calm and stylish, who could adapt easily to different costumes and still carry the character’s villainous edge.
The director initially searched for a Telugu actor for almost eight months but could not find the right fit. That changed when one of his assistant directors showed him a picture of Raghav Juyal. Odela immediately felt that Raghav could fit the role. The filmmaker later became even more convinced during their first meeting, when he noticed the actor’s confidence and energy.
Raghav Juyal’s Energy Changed The Character
While the initial casting decision was based on Raghav’s physicality and personality, Odela eventually went further and adjusted the character itself. The director explained that he had originally imagined the antagonist as someone more settled and calm. After meeting Raghav, however, he felt the role needed to make better use of the actor’s natural energy.
Odela said the actor has a particularly strong screen presence whenever the camera is on him. Rather than suppressing that quality to fit the original version of the character, the team reshaped the role around what Raghav naturally brought to it. That approach allowed the filmmaker to retain the qualities he had been searching for while also incorporating Raghav’s distinctive performance style into the character.

Raghav Juyal Plays The Antagonist In The Paradise
Raghav plays Vikram Malik, the antagonist in The Paradise, opposite Nani. The film marks his entry into Telugu cinema and puts him in a darker role within Srikanth Odela’s gritty action drama. The film’s teaser has already introduced Raghav as Vikram Malik, setting up a conflict with Nani’s character Jadal.
The story is set against a harsh world involving a marginalised community, with Jadal emerging as a leader who challenges an entrenched system. The cast also includes Kayadu Lohar, Mohan Babu and other key actors. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music, while the film is directed and written by Srikanth Odela.

The Paradise Set For September 24 Release
The Paradise is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 24, 2026. The film reunites Nani and Srikanth Odela after their previous collaboration, Dasara, and is being presented as an intense action drama. The film has recently received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, with a final runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes.
The certification comes shortly before its worldwide theatrical release. Interestingly, Nani has also confirmed that the makers will not release a traditional trailer before the film hits theatres, choosing instead to preserve more of the film’s material for the theatrical experience.
Final Take
Raghav Juyal’s casting in The Paradise came after an eight-month search, but his involvement ultimately influenced more than just the casting decision. Srikanth Odela’s decision to rewrite the antagonist around Raghav’s natural energy could make Vikram Malik one of the film’s more distinctive elements when the Nani-led action drama reaches theatres on September 24.
