The season five of MTV Hustle is here and it's themed ‘Apna Homeground'. This idea recognizes the areas, community, life experiences and life journey that mold an artist before he/she becomes famous. Instead of just viewing the genre of hip-hop music as a competition, this season endeavors to bring out the culture and real life stories of upcoming rappers from India.
However, the current season also presents another interesting juxtaposition between technology and human creativity. Its first promotional video features an AI-generated version of Badshah only for the actual rapper to come in to deliver a very important message.
‘Apna Homeground’ Celebrates Where Every Artist Comes From
The key concept of Hustle 5 is that every artist has some place and community that has contributed to his/her identity. “Homeground” means far more than just some geographical point—it is the people, culture, experiences, and difficulties that affect the sound of each artist.
The theme of the current season of the show revolves around the voices that come from the Indian street, and it presents hip-hop as a culture that comes from experience. This makes the upcoming season more unique in its identity while not losing sight of its main goal.
Hustle 5 Puts Authenticity Against The Rise Of AI
Another key concept conveyed through the initial campaign for the show is the notion of real creativity and artificial intelligence. In the beginning of the promo, there is the scene where an AI created version of Badshah emerges as the perfect candidate for Rap Supremo, until Badshah comes into picture with the famous “Prompt se toh nahi ho payega” line.
This concept goes very well with the theme of “Apna Homeground”. Though AI can create copies of the sounds, the show is focused on the emotions and experience of artists.

Badshah And Squad Bosses Bring Their Own Hustle Stories
This season sees the return of Badshah as the Rap Supremo and EPR, MC Square, Paradox and Agsy as Squad Bosses. This season’s homeground theme is further justified by the fact that many of these participants have themselves participated in the Hustle story in the past.
The two participants who are participating as mentors in this season of Hustle Story are previous participants as well. They first contested in the show and then came back in order to mentor others in their field.
MTV Hustle 5 Turns Hip-Hop Into A Celebration Of Community
By means of “Apna Homeground,” it seems like Season 5 of the show is giving more attention to the culture surrounding hip-hop as opposed to the competition alone. It seems like an anthem for the season will be using a moving metro as the stage, symbolizing the streets and communities where Indian hip-hop artists come from.
Hustle 5 has its debut on August 8, 2026, with new episodes airing on weekends via MTV India and JioHotstar. With all the emphasis that is being put on authenticity and community with the “Apna Homeground” theme, the message of the fifth season of Hustle is clear: artists belong somewhere before they become stars.
