Hanuman Ansh Story Overview
This film revolves around the spiritual life of Lakshmi Narayan Sharma who comes to be known as Neem Karoli Baba (Shobhinaw Satyaa). It portrays his life through the stages of childhood, various troubles he has faced, and finally a move to a devotional, compassionate and service-oriented life. Unlike many other films which are centered around supernatural abilities and wonders, this movie tries to portray the human side of the spiritual leader.
It also portrays the idea of feeding the hungry, serving people and loving all of humanity. This goal can be achieved through the efforts of the main actor Chandan Anand and the supporting cast. The main antagonistic conflict is not formed around any antagonist, but rather the internal struggle of a person seeking the meaning of his life in serving others.

Hanuman Ansh Review: A Sincere Film With a Strong Spiritual Core
Perhaps, the most valuable aspect of the movie Hanuman Ansh is its sincere attitude towards the subject matter. The filmmakers do not make an attempt to transform their character into the regular hero. Rather, they chose a less hectic way and focused on such themes as faith, human emotions, and serving other people. The screenplay contains some emotionally appealing moments, including those in which suffering is linked to compassion.
Love, humility, and serving are the major aspects that were depicted by the filmmakers in a clear manner but not in a form of the rhetoric. Nevertheless, the peaceful and quiet style may irritate those viewers who prefer watching biographical movies with fast-paced action. Certain parts of the plot may be perceived as prolonged. It is clear that the movie was created for those viewers who were ready to watch something spiritually appealing.
Shobhinaw Satyaa Leads With Conviction
The film is carried well by Shobhinaw Satyaa through his performance of Neem Karoli Baba. The actor does not indulge in any theatrics but keeps it grounded, and it is perfect for the movie as a whole. The other supporting cast like Chandan Anand, Hunny Bakshi and the other actors have put up good performances as well. The performances have been most successful when the film has kept it simple. Rather than relying on any loud dramatics, the actors have allowed the emotion to flow through.

Visuals in this movie coincide well with its spiritual essence. The rural settings combined with simple surroundings make the environment authentic, while the cinematography makes the story more relaxed and rooted. Also, the background score deserves mentioning. It does not overshadow the scenes and serves for the purpose of creating a devotional ambience. Visual effects have been applied in order to emphasize the spiritual ambiance of the film. The editing was mostly successful; however, some parts might have been edited in a more concise way.
What Are the Weak Points?
- Slow narrative pace
- Stretched sequences
- Limited dramatic conflict
- May feel too devotional

Final Verdict
Hanuman Ansh is a genuine effort by Vishal Chaturvedi to make the life and lessons of Neem Karoli Baba into a mainstream movie. Vishal Chaturvedi has kept the essence of compassion, devotion, humility, and seva intact in his film, thus giving it an emotional touch rather than a mere documentation of the life of someone renowned. Hanuman Ansh can be considered one of the best qualities of the movie; otherwise, the other things that could prove to be a little too much for many people are its slow tempo and lack of conflict.
Rating: 3.5/5
Overall, Hanuman Ansh is a worthwhile one-time watch for spiritual and biographical cinema fans, especially those looking for a film built around faith, compassion and humanity.
