Drishyam: The Conclusion Story Overview
Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) has spent years protecting his family and keeping the truth surrounding Sameer Deshmukh's death buried. His carefully constructed story has allowed the family to move forward, but the past refuses to disappear completely. Meera Deshmukh (Tabu) continues to carry the pain of losing her son, while Vijay's family tries to live a normal life.
The situation changes when SP Crime Branch officer Rajveer Singh Tomar (Jaideep Ahlawat) takes a fresh look at the case. Tomar discovers evidence that raises new questions about Vijay's earlier story. He begins connecting missing pieces and puts pressure on the Salgaonkar family. For the first time, Vijay finds himself dealing with an opponent who is determined to challenge the version of events he has carefully maintained.
Prakash Raj also joins the story in a new role, while the returning characters face the consequences of everything that happened in the previous films. The rest of the story focuses on Vijay's attempts to protect his family while dealing with an investigation that threatens to expose the truth.

Drishyam: The Conclusion Review: A New Challenge for Vijay
The biggest advantage of Drishyam: The Conclusion is that it understands what audiences expect from a Drishyam film. The story keeps information hidden, gradually reveals new pieces and makes Vijay's ability to think ahead an important part of the tension. This time, however, the film gives him a different kind of problem. Rajveer is not simply repeating the investigation from the earlier films.
He approaches the case from another angle and begins finding details that even Vijay did not expect. The first half uses the confrontation between Vijay and Rajveer effectively. Their scenes have a quiet tension because both characters understand that one mistake could change everything. The screenplay also avoids simply copying the earlier films' formula. It brings new complications into Vijay's life while keeping the central family conflict intact.
Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat’s Performances
Ajay Devgn once again keeps Vijay Salgaonkar understated. He does not play the character as an obvious mastermind in every scene. Instead, much of the performance comes through his expressions, pauses and controlled reactions when the investigation starts getting closer to his family.
Jaideep Ahlawat is a major addition to the franchise as Rajveer Singh Tomar. His character brings a different energy to the investigation and gives Vijay an opponent who does not easily accept the obvious answers. Their scenes together are among the film's most important moments. The tension comes less from loud confrontations and more from the two characters trying to understand each other's next move.
Tabu remains effective as Meera Deshmukh, particularly in the scenes where her grief and anger return to the centre of the story. Prakash Raj brings weight to his role, while Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav support the family portions.

Story and Screenplay
The screenplay's biggest strength is the way it keeps changing the pressure on Vijay. Instead of making him completely comfortable with his previous plan, the film places him in situations where he has to react and rethink his strategy. This gives the third chapter a different rhythm from the previous films. The story is still built around secrets and investigation, but the emotional pressure on the Salgaonkar family receives more attention.
There are moments when the film stretches its mystery a little too long, and some developments may feel convenient. Still, the screenplay has enough turns to keep the central investigation moving. The film also builds towards a climax that attempts to provide closure to Vijay's story rather than simply ending on another open mystery.

Suspense, Climax and Emotional Impact
The suspense works best when Vijay and Rajveer are directly involved. Their cat-and-mouse dynamic gives the film its strongest tension. The courtroom and investigation portions add another layer to the story, while the family scenes remind us why Vijay continues to take extreme steps to protect the people closest to him.
The climax is designed as the film's major payoff. It brings together the central mystery, Vijay's family and the investigation while attempting to close the franchise's long-running story. Some viewers may find the resolution more dramatic than surprising, but it gives the film a clear sense of finality.
Music, Cinematography and Technical Aspects
The technical presentation stays in line with the dark and serious tone of the franchise. The cinematography keeps the Salgaonkar family's world grounded, while the background score is used to build tension around the investigation.
The editing is particularly important in the suspense portions, where information is revealed gradually rather than all at once. Abhishek Pathak also keeps the visual treatment relatively controlled. The film does not depend on excessive action to create tension, instead relying mainly on conversations, investigation and character reactions.
What Are the Weak Points?
- Uneven pacing
- Convenient developments
- Familiar formula
- Overextended mystery

Final Verdict
Drishyam: The Conclusion gives Vijay Salgaonkar one more difficult situation to escape from and adds Jaideep Ahlawat's Rajveer Singh Tomar as a fresh challenge. Ajay Devgn remains restrained in the lead, while Jaideep brings the intensity needed to keep the investigation interesting. Tabu and Prakash Raj also add weight to the emotional and dramatic portions.
The film does not completely reinvent the franchise, but it gives the Hindi series a new conflict instead of simply repeating the earlier story. The mystery takes its time in places, and some developments feel convenient, but the central Vijay-Rajveer confrontation keeps the film engaging.
As a final chapter, Drishyam: The Conclusion works through its characters, secrets and family stakes rather than relying only on spectacle. It is a solid crime thriller for audiences who have followed Vijay Salgaonkar's journey from the beginning.
