But when their relationship falls apart, the future she had carefully imagined begins to collapse.

At the same time, Shy reconnects with her childhood friend Dhruv (Ansh Duggal). Their old equation brings back emotions and questions that Shy had pushed aside. Tara (Bianca Arora) also becomes an important part of Shy's college life. Their friendship gradually becomes one of the more meaningful relationships in the film.

The biggest strength of Don’t Be Shy is its relatable central idea. Piyush Khati fits naturally into the role of Mayank and brings the confidence needed for the character. Ansh Duggal is effective as Dhruv, particularly during the quieter emotional scenes where the character's vulnerabilities become visible.

Bianca Arora makes an impression as Tara. Her character adds energy to the college portions and, more importantly, provides Shy with a friendship that feels warmer than some of the romantic relationships around her. The supporting cast, including Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia and Anju Alva Naik, adds familiar faces and occasional humour. However, several supporting characters could have been developed further.

Music And Visual Appeal

The film has a colourful and youthful visual style that fits its college setting and young-adult story. The locations, costumes and production design create the bright world expected from this kind of romantic comedy. The music by Ram Sampath complements the film's youthful atmosphere. The songs work within the scenes, although they do not always leave a lasting impact after the story moves forward.

The editing could have been tighter, especially during portions where the narrative slows down. At 2 hours and 28 minutes, the film feels slightly longer than the material demands. Still, the overall presentation remains accessible and easy to watch, particularly when the focus stays on the young characters and their relationships.
