The international promotional campaign for Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana has officially begun, with Sony Pictures releasing a new television promo ahead of the film's second trailer on October 15, 2026. The footage, reportedly airing across the United States, Canada and parts of Europe, offers fresh glimpses of the mythological epic. The biggest surprise is Kunal Kapoor's first official appearance as Lord Indra, including a dramatic confrontation with Yash's Ravana. With just three weeks remaining before the film's overseas release, the makers are stepping up their global promotions.
Sony Pictures Launches Ramayana's International Campaign
Sony Pictures has begun promoting Ramayana internationally with a new television advertisement aimed at audiences outside India. The film is being marketed overseas as Ramayana: The Rise of a Legend, introducing the ancient Indian epic to viewers who may be unfamiliar with its characters.
The promotional clip features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana, setting up the central conflict between the two. Producer Namit Malhotra also marked the campaign's launch, describing the international release as an important step towards taking India's storytelling traditions to audiences worldwide.
Kunal Kapoor's First Look as Lord Indra Steals Attention
One of the biggest revelations in the new promo is Kunal Kapoor's appearance as Lord Indra. The actor is seen riding Airavata, the divine elephant associated with Indra, before confronting Ravana. The sequence takes a dramatic turn when Yash's character strikes Airavata, highlighting Ravana's strength and aggression.
Although Kunal Kapoor's association with the film had previously been reported, the television advertisement offers the first official footage of him in character. The scene also provides a better look at the film's visual effects and the scale of its mythological world.
