Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana has reportedly faced an unexpected setback after a fire broke out at the film’s set in Mumbai’s Goregaon Film City on Monday evening. According to media reports and videos circulating online, emergency teams, including firefighters and police personnel, were rushed to the location soon after the incident was reported.
The fire was reportedly classified as a Level-1 incident and was brought under control within around 50 minutes. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. However, reports suggest that the blaze may have affected some nearby shooting locations as well.
How Did the Fire Break Out on the Ramayana Set?
According to initial reports, the fire started at a temporary structure located inside Film City in Goregaon East. The set was reportedly around 100×20 feet in size and was situated behind Reliance Media Works and Prime Focus.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade is said to have received information about the incident at approximately 4:02 PM. Firefighters then reached the location and reportedly brought the blaze under control by around 4:55 PM.
Preliminary details suggest that electrical wiring, installations and cables were among the materials affected by the fire. Doors, wooden planks, air-conditioning units, bamboo, plastic materials, sound equipment and other items associated with the shoot were also reportedly damaged.
No Injuries Reported in the Incident
The biggest relief so far is that no injuries have been reported in connection with the fire.
Along with the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, the BMC ward control team and a 108 ambulance service were reportedly present at the location. The emergency response helped contain the fire before it could spread further.
The extent of the overall property damage is still being assessed, and an official statement from the makers is awaited.

What Did FWICE President BN Tiwari Say?
Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president BN Tiwari has also reportedly commented on the incident. In a conversation with India Today, he mentioned that a similar incident had allegedly occurred at a nearby location a few days earlier.
According to the reports, FWICE had subsequently advised producers to ensure proper safety arrangements at shooting locations.
Tiwari reportedly stressed the importance of taking additional precautions on film and television sets. The incident has once again highlighted the need for proper fire-safety measures, electrical checks and emergency preparedness during large-scale productions.
Were Hustle 5 and Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 Sets Also Affected?
Reports suggest that the fire may have had an impact on some nearby shooting locations. The sets of MTV Hustle 5 and Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 have also been mentioned in connection with the incident.
Some initial reports claimed that the fire began near the Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 set before reportedly moving towards the Hustle 5 location. However, the exact origin of the fire and the manner in which it spread have not been officially detailed.
It has also been reported that Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 was shooting around the time of the incident. The extent of any damage to the television projects, however, remains unclear and awaits official confirmation.
