Red Nation Awards Continue Celebrating Indigenous Storytelling

The 31st RNCI Red Nation Awards will take place on November 15 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The ceremony will bring together performers, filmmakers, cultural figures and tribal leaders to recognise achievements in film, television, comedy, music and the arts. Founded by the Red Nation Celebration Institute, the festival and awards programme have championed Native and Indigenous storytellers since 1995. Their mission centres on increasing visibility, supporting authentic representation and giving Indigenous creators greater control over how their communities and experiences are portrayed.

Festival director and institute founder Joanelle Romero has emphasised the importance of ensuring that Indigenous voices shape their own narratives rather than relying on outside interpretations. The 2026 programme reflects that commitment through its selection of films, awards and opportunities for filmmakers to connect with audiences and industry professionals. The event will also stream through Red Nation Television Network, extending the celebrations beyond the festival’s in-person screenings.
