For the first time, Jung Hae In and Shin Sae Kyeong will work together in a romantic drama titled "Love Virus" (English translation). TVING revealed the news on September 1, confirming both actors as the leads of a story about love, marriage, curiosity and dangers of going out of the box after spending many years together. The drama will air on TVING in 2027.
In contrast to ordinary romances, which revolve around a romance of two people meeting each other, Love Virus starts its plot from the point where a couple spends nine years together. Their extraordinary idea of dating others before getting married becomes a main point of the drama.
Jung Hae In And Shin Sae Kyeong Lead Love Virus
Jung Hae In will star as Ha Do Woon, a successful lawyer and the long-time boyfriend of Kang Chae Rin, who will be played by Shin Sae Kyeong. Ha Do Woon is the son of a rich family and appears to have everything he could wish for. Handsome, skilled in his work, athletic and driven to succeed in everything he undertakes, Ha Do Woon has all the qualities needed for a successful man.
Shin Sae Kyeong will play Kang Chae Rin, a dentist who has been dating Ha Do Woon for nine years. Although successful both in her professional and personal life, she starts thinking about the need to change her lifestyle that has been going on from childhood. This is the first time Jung Hae In and Shin Sae Kyeong star in a film together, thus making the combination of actors a real draw of the film.

Love Virus Has An Unusual Romance Premise
The story of Love Virus revolves around the couple's nine-year relationship. Ha Do Woon and Kang Chae Rin have been each other's first love, and therefore, the marriage phase comes quite naturally for the both of them. But because they have never gone through any other relationship, the couple starts thinking that there could be regret over what could have been missed out on.
Rather than just brushing off their worries, the couple takes an unusual step. The couple decides to give themselves a break and get to know some other people before marriage. The motive behind their action is to make sure that they don't go into marriage thinking about how a relationship with someone else could have been. However, a natural question that arises here is that whether the relationship could survive or not when two people who have always loved each other try dating others.

Jung Hae In And Shin Sae Kyeong’s Characters Face A Relationship Test
However, the drama promises to capture the changes in their emotions now that the couple have ventured outside of the nine-year bubble of familiarity they created together. The fact that they know each other well makes their love unique compared to the usual love that happens upon meeting each other for the first time.
The problem arises for Ha Do Woon when he tries to move on in life without his long-term partner by his side. Kang Chae Rin is actually beginning to doubt about the path that she took with what seemed to be the perfect life at first glance. Either way, venturing out to other people can either help them understand each other more or reveal problems that existed but were unnoticed before. This provides Love Virus with an interesting premise since the characters already have a strong connection.

Love Virus Release Date, Cast And More
Love Virus stars Choi Soo Young and Nam In Young as directors and Jung Hae In and Shin Sae Kyeong as its main protagonists. The show is set to air on TVING in 2027 and has not been assigned a particular date yet. In spite of all the new elements the story brings, nothing beats the chemistry between the two protagonists of the drama – Jung Hae In and Shin Sae Kyeong.
These actors have played romantic roles before, however, in this particular show they face another challenge, which requires them to embody a couple that already has more than a decade of being together. Since the upcoming marriage seems to be jeopardized by a mutual decision of breaking up for some time, Love Virus is expected to feature an unconventional romantic story about how a couple finds itself in a position to fall in love again.
Final Take
"Love Virus" will surely be another exciting show to look forward to among the 2027 Korean dramas. The fact that Jung Hae In and Shin Sae Kyeong will be playing their first pair together on screen, along with their unique nine-years-couple concept, sets the stage for a unique modern love story.
