After receiving recognition for both Raayan and Captain Miller, the actor-filmmaker was asked by reporters when he planned to start his own political party. Dhanush simply smiled and laughed before walking away without giving a direct answer.
His reaction has once again triggered discussion about his political ambitions, particularly because his recent comments about using fan associations for social welfare had already led to speculation. However, there is currently no official announcement from Dhanush about forming a political party or entering electoral politics.

As Dhanush returned to Chennai after the National Film Awards ceremony, reporters directly questioned him about his plans to launch a political party. Instead of confirming or denying the possibility, the actor smiled, laughed and left without answering the question.

The political question came shortly after a major professional achievement for Dhanush. His 2024 directorial Raayan won the National Film Award for Best Tamil Film, while his performance in Captain Miller received a Special Mention.
The recognition marked an important moment in his career as both an actor and filmmaker. Raayan became his first National Award-winning film as a director, adding another major milestone to his already decorated career.
