Actor Bipasha Basu is all set to make her comeback in a six-year gap with the series titled Barabanki, a crime thriller directed by Hansal Mehta. The series is inspired from a book called The Barabanki Narcos: Busting India’s Most Notorious Drug Cartel and is the story of a true-life incident of a retired IPS officer named Aloke Lal.
Bipasha Basu Returns To Acting After Six Years
Bipasha Basu makes her highly anticipated comeback in the acting arena with the show titled Barabanki, being the first major acting endeavor by the actress after a break of six years. The star who has worked in movies like Raaz, Jism, and Dhoom 2 is finally getting into the genre of crime thriller.
The actress’s comeback is already creating ripples among the viewers because of her reunion with the director Hansal Mehta.
Barabanki Is Inspired By A Real-Life Drug Cartel Operation
Barabanki has been adapted from Aloke Lal's novel titled The Barabanki Narcos that captures the author’s experiences in battling what was considered one of the most notorious drug cartels in India during his time as an Indian Police Service Officer.
The series takes place in the year 1984 and follows Lal's opium raiding operations in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Sunny Kaushal And Vishal Jethwa Join The Crime Thriller
Together with Bipasha Basu, there are Sunny Kaushal and Vishal Jethwa in the series Barabanki. Both the actors are well versed in their field in acting roles that involve passion and depth.
Vishal Jethwa, who starred in Homebound, is among the cast members. Sunny Kaushal is also widening his horizons in other genres. The series is produced by Prabhleen Kaur.
Shooting Has Already Begun In Mumbai
The filming of the show is already underway, as the shooting of Barabanki started last month in Mumbai. The show will also talk about the loyal employees and informants that helped Lal in tackling the mighty drug cartels along with the police operation itself.
Barabanki has all the potentials of becoming an interesting series, especially when the film-maker Hansal Mehta is going to direct it. Another reason for the audience to watch Barabanki is the comeback of Bipasha after six years.
