The Weight

The Weight is set in 1933 Oregon and follows Samuel Murphy, a father whose life is shattered when he is forcibly separated from his daughter and imprisoned in a harsh labor camp. Struggling to survive in an unforgiving environment, he is presented with a dangerous opportunity by Warden Clancy-complete a secret mission to smuggle gold across a deadly, isolated wilderness in exchange for the chance of early release.

As Murphy joins a crew assigned to the perilous task, trust becomes fragile and suspicion slowly takes hold. The harsh conditions, combined with hidden motives and growing betrayal within the group, turn the journey into a psychological and physical battle for survival.

With every step deeper into the wilderness, Murphy is forced to confront impossible choices. As his longing to reunite with his daughter intensifies, he must decide how much he is willing to sacrifice-and what he is willing to become-to get back to her.
